New Year Resolutions: 5 Smart Tips
Factors to take into account when making resolutions (5 SMART tips):
Specific. Your resolution needs to be crystal clear.
Measurable. Make measurable goal. Relying on external factors to determine your success is unwise.
Achievable. Large goals may cause you grief or negatively impact other parts of your life to the point where they consume all of your attention, leaving you and your loved ones helpless. Make your larger aim attainable by using the Japanese Kaizen technique. This does not stop you from setting difficult stretch objectives.
Relevant. Do you really care about this goal you’ve set, and are you establishing it for the right reasons?
Time-bound. The time-scale for achieving your goal should be practical, just like it should be “achievable.”
